The associate will partner with the Director,  of Talent and Culture in building the foundation of a growing new research and insight company. They will identify and execute the strategy that powers the creation of first rate research and insight products that serve the world's biggest brands.  They will be responsible for sourcing talent, campus strategy and engagement as well as managing the interview and hiring process. 

As an ambassador  of the organization, the associate should be extremely dynamic and welcoming to all candidates. Additionally, the recruiter will have an opportunity to expand and refine our engagement with universities with the aim of increasing our candidate pipelines. Our Recruiter will be joining a growing team of Human Resources professionals. This role will  have Direct impact on reimagining the culture of a storied DC brand.

Our Recruiter:

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.

  • Collaborates with hiring managers to identify, and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.

  • Implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.

  • Posts jobs and manages the hiring process in our HR information system.

  • Identifies and attends key college job fairs and recruiting sessions to widen our candidate pipeline.

  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates before moving to the interview process.

  • Schedules interviews with appropriate team members and hiring managers; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.

  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers and advising on the best process and stakeholders for a given role.

  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or VP of Human Resources during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

  • Recent college graduates are welcome to apply

  • Will have a background or interest in HR, business, research, strategy, and operations

  • Demonstrated ability in navigating relational nuance and remaining personable and professional at all times. 

  • Excellent time management and judgment, demonstrated proficiency in managing competing project priorities and adhering to timelines.

  • Demonstrated outstanding client-service ethic and spirit of generosity

  • Creative thinking and resourcefulness in problem-solving

  • Active contributor to a diverse and inclusive workplace

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $55,000-$65,000 (salary commensurate with experience)

Location:  This job is based in Washington, DC. National Journal is operating on a hybrid basis, with employees required to be in the office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
